Pearl White Label

Pearl White Label

The Pearl White Label, commonly referred to as a PVC label, is a type of self-adhesive plastic label manufactured from polymer materials such as polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), or, in some cases, polyvinyl chloride (PVC). These labels feature a smooth, glossy, and flexible surface that provides a distinctly plastic feel while offering exceptional resistance to stretching and tearing. Compared to paper labels, pearl labels demonstrate superior durability in challenging environments; they are highly resistant to moisture, temperature fluctuations, and harsh conditions, maintaining both their structural integrity and print quality over time. Pearl labels are available in matte and gloss finishes and can be further classified by adhesive type into acrylic (low-tack) and hotmelt (high-tack) systems. Labels utilizing acrylic adhesive are widely used in medical and laboratory applications, particularly in blood transfusion centers, as they retain full adhesion performance at temperatures as low as –40°C and can be repositioned without leaving any residue or surface damage. The Pearl White family encompasses a wide range of related synthetic materials, including PP, PE, Thermal Pearl, and Gore-Tex-type films, each offering unique properties tailored to specific industrial applications.

Thermal PP (Thermal Pearl):

A hybrid material that combines the durability of PVC with thermal-reactive printing properties. It is tear- and moisture-resistant and printable via direct thermal label printers, which use heat instead of ink.

PP / PE Labels:

PP and PE variants offer greater elasticity and flexibility than standard pearl materials and are generally higher in cost. PE is particularly suitable for packaging motor oil and antifreeze due to its high elongation capacity and excellent heat resistance.

Gore-Tex-type Films:

This polymer film exhibits lower elasticity than PE and PP but is virtually tear-proof. It also boasts the highest gloss level within its material group, making it ideal for premium labeling applications.
